Racing the big boys

I just posted a great new video to my YouTube channel from when we brought two of the Persico 69F's up from Lake Garda to Lorient to race against the IMOCA 60s at the Defi Azimut regatta.

While both technically foiling (assisted in the case of the big boats) monohulls, the two classes could not be further apart. The small 69F's are designed for tight regatta sailing over the course of a few hours whereas the IMOCAs are of course designed for solo non-stop around the world racing! Clearly not the same use case but there is a lot of shared DNA and I hope that the IMOCA rule evolves in the future to allow a fully foiling future.
